Culture of Books and Reading, Prof. Kevin Grace
Culture of Books and Reading is an honors seminar focusing on the study of books and reading. During the course, we examined the nature of books, especially as they have evolved from ancient times as little more than clay tablets used to keep financial records to present-day electronic books. We considered other forms of reading not contained in books and how these forms create both a uniqueness to various cultures and an underlying, unifying theme between cultures. Through various means, we explored the effects of social media on literature and literacy.
